My name is Sikang Yan. I was previously part of the International Research Training Group (IRTG 2057), where I had the privilege of being supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Müller at the Technical University of Darmstadt and Distinguished Professor Bahram Ravani at the University of California, Davis. I earned my doctorate specializing in Mechanics through this program.
Currently, I am working as a simulation engineer at GRATZ Engineering GmbH. My work encompasses simulations in the fields of structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, and thermal analysis. Additionally, I contribute IT expertise in automation scripting, data science, and machine learning, as well as supporting project management.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have dedicated myself to advancing the fields of numerical simulation, algorithm optimization, and software development. My work bridges the gap between theoretical mechanics and practical applications, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex engineering problems.
In my free time, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including horseback riding, sport shooting and hip-hop dancing.
